1Eötvös Loránd Tudományegyetem
Eötvös Loránd University is a Hungarian public research university based in Budapest. Founded in 1635, ELTE is one of the largest and most prestigious public higher education institutions in Hungary.
Central European University is a private research university accredited in Austria, Hungary, and the United States, with campuses in Vienna and Budapest. The university is known for its strength in the social sciences and humanities, low student-faculty ratio, and international student body.
3Budapesti Muszaki és Gazdaságtudományi Egyetem
The Budapest University of Technology and Economics, official abbreviation BME, is the most significant University of Technology in Hungary and is considered the world’s oldest institute of Technology which has university rank and structure. It was the first institute in Europe to train engineers at the university level.
The University of Szeged is a large research university in Hungary. It is located in Hungary’s third-largest city, Szeged, in Csongrád County in the Southern Great Plain. The University is one of Hungary’s most important universities and is among the most prominent higher education institutions in Central Europe. According to the Academic Ranking of World Universities by Shanghai Jiao Tong University (2003, 2004, 2005), it was ranked 203rd–300th in the complete list (in a tie), 80th–123rd in the scientific ranking of European universities, and first in the Hungarian national ranking.
The University of Debrecen is a university located in Debrecen, Hungary. It is the oldest continuously operating institution of higher education in Hungary (since 1538). The university has a well-established program in the English language for international students, particularly in the medical field, which first established education in English in 1986. There are nearly 6000 international students studying at the university. Until 2014 technical Academy Awards (Oscars) have been awarded to five former students.
The University of Pécs is an institution of higher education in Hungary. Although the year 1367 appears in the seal of the university, it is not a successor of the medieval university founded in Pécs in 1367 by Louis I of Hungary. More than 20,000 students presently attend the University of Pécs, approximately 4,000 of whom are international students studying in English or German.

10Pázmány Péter Katolikus Egyetem
Pázmány Péter Catholic University is a private university in and near Budapest, Hungary, belonging to the Catholic Church and recognized by the state. Founded in 1635, the PPCU is one of Hungary’s oldest and most prestigious institutions of higher education. The Faculty of Theology was established by archbishop Péter Pázmány in Nagyszombat, the Kingdom of Hungary in 1635. The university is located in three cities: the Rectors’ Office, the Faculty of Theology, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Information Technology, and the Postgraduate Institute of Canon-Law is located in Budapest. The campus of the Vitéz János Faculty of Teaching is in Esztergom, around the Esztergom Basilica. The campus of the Faculty of Humanities is in Piliscsaba, in the vicinity of Budapest.
11Szent István Egyetem
Established in 2000, Szent István Egyetem (Szent István University) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the rural setting of the large town of Gödöllo (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Pest. This institution also has branch campuses in the following locations: Budapest, Szarvas, Beregszász, Csíkszereda, Zenta, Komárom.
The Óbuda University named after Óbuda, a part of Budapest, is a technical university in Budapest, Hungary. It was founded in 2000 as Budapest Tech with the merging of three polytechnical institutes. With nearly 13,000 students it is one of the largest technical universities in the country. Having complied with the requirements, the institution was promoted to university status on 1 January 2010 under the name of Óbuda University.
13Eszterházy Károly Egyetem
The Eszterházy Károly University of Applied Sciences was founded in 1774 in Eger. In 1989 it was renamed after its founder Bishop Károly Eszterházy. The number of students is 8602. The establishment’s buildings are scattered throughout the city, the largest and oldest among them was built in baroque style lyceum.

Nyíregyházi Egyetem is the largest higher education institution in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county, 2000. January 1, was established in Nyíregyháza College under the name of George Bessenyei Teacher Training College and the Godollo Agricultural University – Faculty of Agricultural Colleg fusion. transformed into the University of Applied Sciences on 1 January. It trains students in a number of fields: agriculture, humanities, economics, informatics, engineering, art mediation, teacher training, sports science, social sciences, and science training.
21Magyar Képzomuvészeti Egyetem
The Hungarian University of Fine Arts is the central Hungarian art school in Budapest, Andrássy Avenue. It was founded in 1871 as the Hungarian Royal Drawing School and has been called the University of Fine Arts since 2001.
22Neumann János Egyetem
Neumann János Egyetem was established on July 1, 2016, with the integration of the former Kecskemét College and the Szolnok College. Kecskemét College was established in 2000 with the integration of three colleges, thus becoming the largest college in the Southern Great Plain region. The formerly independent institutions now operate as faculties of the János Neumann University: GAMF Faculty of Engineering and Informatics, Faculty of Horticulture and Rural Development, Faculty of Teacher Education, and Faculty of Economics. The Faculty of Management of Szolnok, operating as the 5th faculty of the university, joined the University of Debrecen on August 1, 2019, through a spin-off merger.

The Széchenyi István University is located in Győr and Mosonmagyaróvár, Hungary. The university was established in 1968. It has an excellent reputation in electrical and mechanical engineering and has a partnership with the German car manufacturer Audi.

30Gábor Dénes Foiskola
Dennis Gabor College is a private educational institution in Budapest, Hungary. It was established in 1992 and named after the Hungarian physicist Dennis Gabor. Since its foundation, the College has been operating programs of IT-themed courses.
31Eötvös József Foiskola
Eötvös József Foiskola in a 1870 academic institution founded in Baja. The predecessor of the college, the Baja State Teacher Training Institute, was founded in 1870 on the basis of a bill by József Eötvös . on October 17. From 7 September 1959, teacher training will take place at the tertiary level instead of the previous secondary level. On September 1, 1962, the National Water Directorate established the Higher Technical School of Water Management. The Technical School was attached to the Faculty of Water Management of the Budapest University of Technology in 1970, and in 1979 to the Mihály Pollack Technical College in Pécs.
The University Edutus (Edutus Egyetem) formed by the merger of the College of Modern Business Studies and John Harsanyi College academic institution with a young, dynamic, environmentally conscious university functioning. The main aim of the University of Edutus is to strengthen the character of a “knowledge center” by strengthening its relations with the public education and business spheres and building new ways of cooperation so that its services can promote the competitiveness of the region.
33Milton Friedman Egyetem
The University of Milton Friedman (Milton Friedman Egyetem) state-accredited private higher education institutions in Békásmegyer. After a successful accreditation procedure, King Sigismund College started its educational activities after the 2000 amendment of the Higher Education Act. The college took the name of the Hungarian king Sigismund of Luxembourg, who founded the second Hungarian university in Óbuda in 1395. Between 2001 and 2005, the college graduated in international relations, human resource manager, communication and cultural management after four years, and in cultural management after three years.

The Academy of Drama and Film in Budapest is an educational institution founded in 1865 in Budapest, Hungary. It became a university in 2000 and the name was changed to University of Theatre and Film Arts.
